Responsibilities

• Contact debtors and negotiate payment plans in order to recover outstanding debts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all debt collection activities.
• Follow up with debtors to ensure payment deadlines are met and resolve any payment disputes.
• Adhere to debt collection laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate with legal professionals to escalate cases when necessary.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with debtors to increase the likelihood of successful debt recovery.
• Prepare reports on debt collection activities and provide regular updates to management.

Requirements and Skills

• Prior experience as a Collection Officer or in a similar role.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with debtors.
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet targets.
• Proficient in using collection software and MS Office Suite.
• Persistence and resilience in dealing with difficult debtors.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
