Cost Engineer Job Description

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Conduct cost estimation and analysis for engineering projects.
• Monitor project expenditures and report variances from the budget.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects including labor, materials, and overheads.
• Monitor and control project costs by tracking expenditures and analyzing financial reports.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend solutions to project managers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align cost objectives with project goals.
• Review and update cost forecasts based on project changes and progress.

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Cost Engineer or similar role in engineering or construction projects.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost estimation and budgeting.
• Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
