Cost Engineer Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct cost estimation and analysis for engineering projects.
- Monitor project expenditures and report variances from the budget.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Monitor and control project costs by tracking expenditures and analyzing financial reports.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend solutions to project managers.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align cost objectives with project goals.
- Review and update cost forecasts based on project changes and progress.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Engineer or similar role in engineering or construction projects.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost estimation and budgeting.
- Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
