Pipe Fitter Job Description

Job Summary

A Pipe Fitter is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems in various industrial, commercial, and residential settings. They play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of piping systems by reading blueprints, using various tools, and adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Install and repair piping systems according to blueprints and specifications.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles.
• Test piping systems for leaks using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and other safety concerns.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
• Utilize hand and power tools to perform installation and repair work.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Good physical condition and stamina to work in various environments.
• Relevant certification or technical education in pipe fitting or a related field.
