• Market Research: Stay up-to-date with current trends in fashion and interior design to ensure the designs align with customer preferences and market demands.
• Collaboration with Manufacturers: Work closely with manufacturers to ensure the designs can be produced using available fabrics and machinery while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Design Software Usage: Utilize design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD to create detailed digital designs for fabric printing or weaving.
• Fabric Knowledge: Understand different types of fabrics and their properties to ensure designs are suitable for specific purposes, such as durability, texture, and drape.
• Sampling and Prototyping: Oversee the creation of textile samples or prototypes to test the designs before full production.
• Color and Material Selection: Choose appropriate color schemes, yarns, and dyes that complement the design and are feasible for production.
• Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients or creative directors to understand project requirements and present design ideas that align with the overall vision.
